MNE 2008

Micro-and Nano-Engineering (MNE) is an international conference on micro- and nano- fabrication and manufacturing using lithography and other nano-patterning related approaches.

The conference brings together engineers and scientists from all over the world to discuss recent progress and future trends in the fabrication, manufacturing and application of micro - and nano- structures and devices.

Applications in Electronics, Electro-mechanics, Environment and Life Sciences are discussed such as: nanoelectronics, MEMS-NEMS, bioMEMS and lab-on-a-chip devices. Usually the conference is organized in 3 parallel sessions and features plenary talks, invited presentations and posters, poster sessions, and a commercial exhibition.

The conference proceedings are published in Microelectronic Engineering.

The MNE 2008 conference in Athens will be the 34th in a series that started in Cambridge in 1975, and was most recently held in Rotterdam (2004), Vienna (2005), Barcelona (2006) and Copenhagen (2007).

MNE has a related conference, the International Conference on Electron-, Ion- and Photon- Beam Technology and Nanofabrication (EIPBN) in the USA, and the International Conference on Microprocesses and Nanotechnology (MNC) in Japan.

It is a tradition that the author of the "Best Paper" of at least one of these related conferences is giving an invited talk at MNE.

Conference structure

The MNE conference begins with a welcome reception on Monday 15 September 2008 in the evening.

The technical program starts on Tuesday 16 September and ends in the afternoon of Thursday 18 September. Courses are organized on the 15th of September and Workshops on the 19th of September.

The program will feature plenary and invited presentations by a number of internationally recognized authors, contributed oral and poster presentations, and a commercial exhibition.

The oral presentations and posters will be selected by the International Program Committee which also selects the plenary and invited talks.

Note that MNE poster papers have equal weight to oral presentations
